I hadn't been appearing a lot these days, but I do have been enjoying myself getting chased by deadlines. So yeah, I'm doing pretty well despite being MIA.

Oh and by the way, the joy of sitting on a late noon staring at leaves above me swinging around being blown by the wind and me taking a breath on that breeze, I finally had it, once again.

So yeah, couldn't get any better than this I think.

One of my closest friends moved acrossed the country a bit more than a week ago. So now all of my friends from my hometown have moved away, since she was the last one still here. Eventually I'll move outta this boring ass town too. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping housing becomes more affordable in the next two years.

I remember it was just a couple years ago when there was a huge opposition for people and streamers who fed heavily to the parasocial viewership. I wonder if now people just don’t find it that much of a big deal or just gave up on those parasocial viewers. Or the crowd died down.

I just finished chapter 31 of Honkai today. It's very good.

Opening Main and seeing "my math class smells like shid" is pretty funny but idk, I think that threads like that staying at the top of Main for so long just makes the site look more dead. That's the kind of thing that would have me clicking off an imageboard pronto.

In a way, doing a factory reset by yourself feels like killing something precious to you with your own hands. Well, I cherished my files, as normal as a hoarder would to anything they got their hands onto. There goes a terra of personality, into the nothingness they go.

Fucking thing been going for 6 hours now, I can only imagine the horrifying alternate timeline where I did choose to do a hard HARD reset. This one is just the hard reset one, thought it'll take like 3 to 4 hours or so, gravely mistaken.

We were at a restaurant with mum and her friend and me sister, I was particularly dressed nicely in that occasion, partly because that fancy collared shirt was the last thing in my wardrobe that I could use to attend my class that day since everything else was in the laundry. To my surprise, the waitress actually asked me what I wanted to order instead of just waiting for my mum to speak on behalf of us all after discussing with us what to eat, that's what usually happens afterall.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, that the waitress is particularly outgoing. But I don't know, maybe this IS the power of presentation...

Sometimes I wonder how many people who work for an insurance company actually use that company for their own insurance. I'm sure that getting a sort of "behind the scenes" could easily influence a decision like that.
I currently work for one, but I don't own a home or car, so I don't have that kind of insurance yet. But in the future, I do think I'd consider going with the company I work for because I see how the code works and I'm aware of just how thoroughly it's tested. So I already have some level of trust there.

Went to laser tag. Got first, first, first, and second. Only didn't place first in the last game because I'd revealed the secret to my success and other people were copying me. Almost didn't get first the third game because my sister was doing a similar strategy and my gun refused to shoot over half the time.

In the second game, I single-handedly got more points than the entire enemy team.

Gah I had a nightmare that my sister accidentally broke my laptop and I had like a legit crisis during the dream and woke up feeling anxious and awful.
What's sadly hilarious though is that during the dream the only reason why I gave her my laptop was because she said that she wanted to read what I was currently writing. Should have been a dead giveaway that the whole thing was a dream. My sister has never read a single page of any of my books. I don't think she could even name the title of the one I've been posting online for years and just reached the 400 page mark in.

I went to the zoo and caught a shiny furfrou.
I also traumatized all my cats by giving them baths lol. They've never had baths before, but they've been getting fleas so I ended up giving in and giving them all a quick wash. My oldest who's (I think) around 5+ years just sat in the sink being super unhappy while the water from the tap ran over him. I gave them soft food though to make up for it.

Spent more than 3 hours perfecting the look of Home board's browser extension popup.html, only to find out that manifest v3, the newest format of browser extensions, wasn't able to work with Name's meticulously placed code for posting new replies.

So... it seems that Home board wasn't really enabled just yet.

The home page does indeed work and appeared though, maybe we could use an html page that uses a bit of Javascript instead of putting all the workload on Javascript alone.

Literally had to look at license plates as a kid to know which truck was ours if there were two red four-doors. Still would, if the truck worked.

I have had problems with excessive fatigue for... several years. At least 8 years, I think. I've pretty much been averaging 10-12 hours of sleep a day and I'm still constantly tired.
I had a sleep study done and they found no issues with my sleep. More tests done and it was not anemia, thyroid problems, etc etc. Pretty much every test resulted in "you're fine" so the fatigue just never got explained.
Had a long conversation with my doctor and she had me do one of those mental health questionnaires. And even though I don't have the stereotypical manifestation of depression, it does explain the fatigue. Tired all the time, low energy, trouble concentrating, and I've been a very slow moving person for quite some time.
So now I'm on a low dose of antidepressants to see if that helps with the fatigue and if so... man. All those years of dealing with this and it was just depression all along. You'd think it'd be one of the first things they'd try.

Getting my backyard cleaned up is such a hassle. I don't know if I ever discussed in detail the state of my backyard and its development since moving into this house last year. Basically the original owners of the house were old white people and because of this they felt the need to have a giant pool deck, a pool shed, a tool shed, another shed that is much smaller and metal, a one car garage, and a fuck ton of crepe myrtles. Now the garage, the tool shed, and the pool shed were all back to back taking a giant chunk of the back yard, the pool deck was smack dab in the middle of the yard, the metal shed is unobtrusively in the back corner of the yard, and the crepe myrtles were EVERYWHERE. Currently the only thing left standing is the metal shed. And the crepe myrtles are trying too grow back, but we will deal with those next year.
My sister, myself, and my sister's bf tore down the deck and the two sheds and chopped down the trees ourselves and we had some guys come to take away the garage. The amount of trash, wood, metal, shingles, etc was astounding. It's all been siting in a huge pile for the better part of a year. Until Wednesday when we finally rented a dumpster to haul away all the junk. We didn't get all of it, but we got most of it.
Probably won't get the rest cleared away for another while, but at the very least we were able to move 90% of the remaining trash onto the concrete where the garage was so we actually have a backyard which is nice. We just need to mow, de-weed, and put down some animal friendly pesticides.

I'm going to a convention tomorrow!

Is assigned to make a program that ranks 5 variables from highest to lowest, in c++ with if else only. We're told to take it slow and make a 3-variable-ranking-system first, then work our way towards increasing that number. For those who don't know, we need to map out all of the possible outputs. 3-variables had 6 possibilities, 4-variables had 24 possibilities. The number goes up like a factorial, which means, 5 variables, will have, 120, One HUNDRED, Twenty, possibilities.

Which is very fun, because I gotta finish it tonight even though the deadline is still tomorrow midnight, but I'm gonna be super busy tomorrow and won't have any time nor energy to finish it anymore, be it in the middle or at the end of the day.

Also could use a bit of Enigami's help right now, we had another assignment to make a program that spews out diagnostics to health problems based on the selected options of symptoms the patient is inputting. Also wondering where Eni is nowadays.

I wanted to share this with the RTT folk. I never thought to look for an extended version to listen to, but it's amazing. Saria's Song has been stuck in my head since I played Ocarina of Time years ago. I whistle it all the time. It was so unsatisfyingly short and I would always only remember the beginning when whistling... listening to the entire thing and then some over and over is so relieving.

My spine hurts.
My sister dragged me to the fair and we stayed out riding rides for like five hours. The last ride we went on was a sort of roller coaster where the car took a bunch of jerky turns and spins around the track. Unfortunately the car was made out of super hard plastic with no padding in it whatsoever and I during all the ups and downs I banged up my back so now it's all bruised. Not good.
But I did get funnel cake while I was there so that was great.

Also my sis and I have been watching X-Files which is a whole trip. My sis didn't realize that the aliens thing was something that was brought up right out of the gate. The show is pretty spooky in its own way. Great watch for October.

Also also I finished s3 of Manifest which is a thing. I still don't understand how that show got two seasons let alone picked up by Netflix for a fourth season. So strange. The plot isn't that great nor is the acting lmao.

This season of anime is pretty stacked. We have: blue luck, mob psycho finale, chainsaw man, bleach, and spy x family. A great western animation also finished not too long ago as well which was “primal.”

Did you guys talk about stable diffusion yet? I think it’s a pretty amazing tool. I don’t think it’ll replace art made by real artists, but it might cut the market a little bit. Maybe more as it gets developed.

Random thought but is piracy ethical if you can't obtain a product through any legal means or it costs way too much/ technology too outdated.

Like if there is a film you want on physical media, but it was only ever released on VHS and the price is fair, but you don't have a VHS player and they cost too much, would it be alright to purchase the film placed on a disk by a third party where profits never reach the original company or people who are meant to make royalties off the film.

Something that sticks to me in Suzumiya Haruhi stories were the subtle worldbuilding of the future world through the overreactions of Asahina Mikuru towards seemingly mundane everyday activity of the group. For the uninformed, Mikuru is a time traveller from the future tasked to spy on Haruhi and her activities in her high school year.

Mikuru is clumsy, and tends to blurt out things she wasn't supposed to at times. We can infer from this, that her higher ups specifically raised her to be as sheltered as possible from the current global condition of her era, so that she won't blurt out anything that are unfit of the era she's working in.

So she doesn't know a lot of things, but she did knew a thing or two. Like the time when she's astonished when visiting the beach, saying "I've only ever read about ocean, never imagined I'd visit one." while the others were like 'yeah whatever', or when she saw a fish, or a boat. Like, its so subtle, yet says so much about the world Mikuru comes from.

I want to be able to write a sentence containing that many layers of meaning to infer.

Being able to write subtle details like that requires you to have a solid idea of a character's background and the sort of unique reactions that they might have. I only say unique, because then it won't be too memorable to the reader if literally everyone in the story has the same reaction.

I've always wondered was Nyanka the name of a character in Durarara, I forget almost everyone's name, but it sounds familiar.

We're gonna walk around the neighborhood to look at decorations, but may as well stop at some houses and get candy too. If we get tired of walking around (very likey since me and the one going as Chiaki both have injuries that impact our walking) then we'll go back and help hand out candy. It's a Monday, so can't do toooo much since work, but will probs play some spooky games with friends the day before.

I bet that a majority of starvation and food cost inflation could be negated - if not outright turned into deflation for the latter - if the US stopped paying farmers to not farm and disallowed plants from being copyrighted. Farmers can't even plant the seeds from the crops they harvest because that'd be copyright infringement, and farmers make more money by not farming than they do when they actually farm.

Reskinned my game, going for that neon look. I'm actually aiming to create a playable/interactable retro-futuristic/vaporwave kinetic posters, but I just couldn't come up with a way to incorporate the design aesthetic without completely trashing the gameplay elements.

Citrus is one of my favorite anime. Every now and then I feel like watching it, but I am always too busy watching other stuff. Recently I've seen a lot of stuff that should really go in Random or other categories and I read the Things NOT to Post on Main thread, but after reading it I was left wondering what can be posted there.

I know there is no concrete rule, but I feel some people get irritated or want to keep Main orderly since it's the first page anyone sees when they log in. So in your opinion what would be acceptable to post on Main?

No no, it is actually the first few generations of Dollar's active members who specifically asked him to add the descriptions we see on every single board. Main was, "Important topics, overarching Dollars issues, and actual topics of discussion...". It is worded in this exact way because many people at the time came to the site thinking it would be just a fansite and our main page would be filled threads that are completely utter bonkers and bullshit, because this was during the height of Durarara's hype train, new members would enter the site through the password page, be redirected to the Main board while being all excited, and then either posted "OMG I CANT BELIEVE THIS PLACE IS REAL", or "MOTHER LOVE LOVE LOVE" or "We should settle things down with Yellow Scarves!" without reading any of the guide threads that most of the time (at the time) would have already been bumped to the top of the board. The site's regular members were sick of this, because they have decided that we don't want to be a fansite like other Dollars sites (there are multiple replicas of Dollars sites at the time), we want to build a proper community, the Dollars like in the anime, but actually real and could function independently without influence from the series.

And to some extent, they succeeded. Because here we are, 12 years later, sitting on the exact same foundation they had laid out more than a decade ago... Oh shit, I strayed too far from the main question.

Siblings fought all the time, if you think 'That' thread doesn't belong on Main, shut it down WITH proper reasoning. If the original poster doesn't agree, they'll come up with their argument on why their thread DOES belong there. This is an update on my Light Novel.

Basically writing is boring. I shouldn't say that, but my brain is so far ahead and my hands can't keep up. I'm writing one thing while already knowing what's gonna happen far off in the future and I wanna get to writing there, but I can't skip parts of the plot.

So I get impatient and bored and when I get bored I slack off and it takes me even longer to get back on track.

Basically writing is hard work, props to everyone who ever wrote a good story.

Spending a few seconds thinking about how it would even be theoretically possible to have a near-serverless (only requiring the basic connection stuff of WebRTC) MMO. I think the only way would be to have some massive WebRTC web of players and have some sort of blockchain-esque history of events for every player. The problem would be that every player would then need to download said history.

Well, actually, there could be two things you could download: Client and server. Client simply downloads the current info of every relevant player and mob in the area, like a normal MMO client. But if you wanted to be a good guy, you could also download the server executable, which would be a background thing that processes the blockchain stuff.

Heck, if someone really wanted to go all-in on a blockchain MMO, they could even let the development be blockchained. Have them able to download a developer executable that allows you to push for updates to the game. If enough other devs say, "Yes, implement that," it gets pushed to the update blockchain. If not, it gets discarded and nothing changes.

I'm not even certain how to do this, let alone if I want to, but I'm going to spend way too long researching this idea now because I had it.

The developer part would have to wait until there's quite a lot of players, though. It wouldn't end very well, otherwise. Would have just one dude coming in and putting a virus on everyone's computer. Could have a weaker version of it from the beginning, though, where the original dev of the game has final say on what gets added or doesn't, then revoke that dictatorship once there's, like, 1000 devs or something.

So I've been making a dress/jumper and it's been a hassle.
The dress is for my sister and it's meant to be a birthday gift for when that rolls around in a few weeks. She bought the materials and pattern for the dress months ago and meant to make it herself, but she's never really gotten into the sewing thing. She claimed she had all the pieces cut out and that they just needed sewn together and so I dug through her craft storage stuff in secret fully prepared to just finish the dress for her in a couple of hours, but this turned out to be gross misconception.
As it turns out my sister doesn't know anything about cutting pattern pieces out or apparently even measuring herself to get the right sizes lmao. I had to cut out a whole extra panel for the skirt because she didn't measure it right, cut out interfacing pieces that she for some reason didn't, and in general start the whole project from scratch.
And the whole time I've been doing this is when she is either not here or while she's asleep because I want it to be a surprise. Let me tell you--figuring out how to make pockets work at 4 in the morning is an adventure.

I don't feel like I'm a part of any "in crowd" on here but I've never felt unwelcome? Granted, I've been here for a loooong time so mayhaps some newcomers just assume I am since I be replying regularly.
Maybe I'm just oblivious to some things that go on here, cause I only check a couple of the boards, but I never got that sense that only "superiors" matter? At least in the RTT, it seems like we get excited when we get someone new in here.
The most I can think of is newcomers getting frustrated with older users telling them not to do something since it may come off as being strict. But that's just to help keep things organized, I think.

In terms of views, even regulars don't always agree on stuff. I know that Naga and I, for example, have some opposing views, but I definitely wouldn't want to just drive him or anyone else off the site because of it. Especially since sometimes reading views I don't necessarily agree with gets me thinking and can challenge my own, which is always a good thing.
Idk.. part of the appeal of this site to me has always been that.. everyone feels like a nobody here, if that makes sense? It's kinda like walking on a busy street. Just a bunch of people gathered in one are, nothing remarkable. And maybe some stranger on the street says or does something that catches your attention for a bit.

This site has always been geared towards anime fans. Sure, the concept of the Dollars wasn’t supposed to be so, but the concept is fiction. The reality is that if you’re going to use the internet, there are certain expectations you can’t just ignore because you really wish the Dollars were real. A human being with no bias doesn't exist, and no matter where you go, there is going to be some sort of hierarchy, social or otherwise. No one is 'equal,' which seems to be what you've been complaining about for years now, and if you want this 'free' marketplace of ideas you seem to be talking about you should try out 4chan, and even they have moderators (besides the glowies ofc). People are going to act shittier online than in real life, but they’re still people, and you can’t expect people to just respect you for existing, especially when you’ve given them no reason to believe otherwise and show no desire to improve yourself. The Dollars was never a ‘safe space’ for you, and just because you wanted it to be doesn’t mean the admin was obligated to make it such.

The sick shift in energy you feel does not originate from this site’s old-time users, I can assure you that. Also, there is nothing going on “under the surface” (on this site, at least) and it’s just a bunch of bored people in an irc channel talking about random shit, reminiscing, and a few internet-savvy dev-mods who help keep the site running.

I'm on vacation, spent my first day playing multi-player video Games and now I'm gonna Binge all She-Hulk before going to sleep.

I watched all of 1899 yesterday. It was very good. I was watching it with my sister though and she's never seen Dark so it was interesting to get her perspective on the trippiness that the creators managed to capture on film.
Very first episode and she guessed that the boat was a simulation, but I wasn't so sure because in Dark you think you understand something then they turn it around on your head. But then it turned out to be a simulation after all lol and I was overthinking it. Can't wait to see what they do with the show in the future. Reaching the end of the season and I felt like we'd only just finished the prologue.
Also as a side complaint towards Netflix: our video defaulted to English voicing over all of the dialogue including the English dialogue spoken by non-English speakers. I actually found it kinda offensive. Like I can understand people even if they have accents, they didn't have to cover them up.

Unfortunately, I bled everywhere. It was really red too, and looked like fake blood. I had to clean blood off my sis's counters and then her boyfriend helped my patch it. Man, the worst part about getting cuts, is they get infected so easily, it's so annoying.

In other news, I went back to playing Pokemon Legends Arceus since I had bought it when it released but barely played it. But now I've been playing it for several hours the past 4 days, lol. It's just very fun to me. And since I definitely don't wanna buy Violet/Scarlet until its issues get resolved, this is a good way to fill the Pokemon obsession that has returned to me.

Unlike you my fellow Dollar I wish my family would leave me alone for Christmas. I don't wanna buy people gifts nor do I want them to buy me gifts. Hustled too many yomis. Spent all thanksgiving break playing the game to the point I didn't eat for long enough I got hypoglycemia long enough to be .9F from medically hypothermic. Felt horrendously bad if I did anything but lay down or sit in a seat where I could lean fully into the back (our couches end below head height, as do most of our chairs.) I went to sleep during the wrong time on the wrong day because of an event I wanted to stay awake for that isn't until tomorrow. Now I'm awake when I should be asleep.

Mega Hoenn Raid Day was a success. Having two phones came in handy. :)
On my new phone I played on my account and on my old phone I had my sister's account because she was at work during the event and couldn't play. There were some restrictions though because my old phone is no longer on a service plan so it only works with wifi nearby. Luckily the library and a nearby restaurant both have free wifi that allowed me access to 4 gyms. I managed to get enough mega energy for all the evolutions plus I got a shiny Blaziken and a shiny Sceptile and my sister got 2 shiny Blazikens.

Also Also I was working on the dress project today. I got the skirt fully hemmed, the straps given their decorative border and a hole where the button is going to go through (the button hole is not finished though), and I sized and pressed the waistband pieces.
What needs finished: buttonhole and buttons need sewn, waistband needs sewn to skirt and top, and straps need sewn into waistband. BUT I can't do anything with the waistband until I actually give the dress to my sister because I need to know the final sizing of the skirt. So I'm like 90% done.

Had a pleasant conversation with a stranger on carwash near our house last month or so. He had a Civic of old model, from 2011 if I remember correctly, he's really proud of it. He told me some interesting stuff about it, like how there's only 16 of them Civic owners of this specific model in the entire province. We didn't exchange contacts, though he said he lives nearby the car wash as well just as I. So sis and I decided to celebrate our birthday today instead of on Friday since this is the only day this week we're both off. She bought me a few things, but I've only been allowed to open one of the four gifts. It was Pokemon Violet which is gonna be fun. I'll probably try to load it up tonight after we get back from our afternoon adventures.
I also showed her the skirt of the dress I'm making so I could check the sizing (which is all good). Overnight I finished sewing in the buttons and buttonholes so now I just need to get the waistband sewn in. My sister mentioned being able to make the straps adjustable which I also considered so maybe today I'll buy some buckles while we're out.

I had to put my dog down today. It was so incredibly hard to do, but at least she is no longer suffering.

I got her for my 8th birthday. I remember going to pick out the puppy I wanted and I had a clear idea of what I was looking for: a pure white male with short hair. While I was there, surrounded by Chihuahua pups and reaching towards the teeny lil white ones that I had pictured, my girl had walked over to me and started pawing at me for my attention. I didn't pick her, she picked me.
I have so many memories of her that I'll cherish forever. Playing tug-of-war with her rope toy and being able to lift her off the ground. Her and her 5 puppies escaping from the backyard and having to chase them all down. Sitting on the couch and her beside me, laying on her back and kicking and punching at me until I gave her the belly rubs she demanded. Giving her treats and seeing her jump and spin for them. Going on hikes with her and her trying to climb up the rocks much faster than I could keep up with. Coming back from college for breaks and her leaping into my lap and giving my face many little licks.

She was just 12 days shy of her 16th birthday and it's going to hurt so much when that day rolls around and she's not here for me to give her her birthday treat. But I'd like to think I gave her a long, happy life and I'm glad she was here to watch me grow as a person. :')

RIP Chica. I'll miss you so much.

Updates on my adventure in dressmaking:
Everything but the straps are done. I stupidly didn't realize that to make straps adjustable I need a buckle AND a d-ring. And of course my craft store only has silver d-rings when I need black. So until I can get myself to the fabric store and buy black d-rings the project is at a halt.

In other news:
I've been playing the heck out of Pokemon Violet. It's really fun, but also really fucking tedious. Navigation and traveling are the biggest hassle of the entire game. I definitely wouldn't describe the game as "open world" but more open world-esque. There are a lot of natural barriers like mountains and rivers that you can't cross until you upgrade your legendary and some paths are straight up gate kept by team star grunts. It's a bit annoying because I don't really care for the story too much. I just want to explore and catch Pokemon, but I literally can't do that without completing parts of the story.

Power level your start to level 100 then stomp on everything in your path. Then you can catch them at your leisure.

The people on theatrical club are really nice to me, even if I didn't mesh really well with their general social atmosphere. I kinda wondered if I'm actually living life on easy mode, since I have almost always has been growing up surrounded by nice people, despite moving school over 4 times in the past. People helped me, people accepted me. I wonder if I could ever return those kindness to the world, to help others just like the people that helped me before, well, likely not with this shy self I suppose.

Who's going to see Avatar? That movies way too long so I'm our. I thought the first one was boring and from the trailers this one looks more or less the same (as in being boring) I've only ever fallen asleep twice when watching something. The first was the original live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turle Movie, I didn't wake till it was over. The second was when I brought the blu ray to Saga of Tanya The Evil, I passed out for only a few minutes before waking up. Oh, and A Quiet Place 2 was so boring I stopped watching it five minutes in.

Anywhoo... I had two days off this weekend which was nice. I really just laid around and potatoed. On Saturday I binged s4 of Roswell which was alright. A bit lackluster of an ending imo. On Sunday I watched Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves. The former was interesting to say the least. I liked the set up and the premise, I didn't like that everyone, but one character (on screen) survived even though this might change. Army of Thieves was much better, but maybe that's just because I'm a sucker for a good heist movie and the main character was cute (and no one died in it).
I'm curious to see how the franchise continues. From what I read off the wikipedia page there's a 3rd movie in the works and it's supposed to include time loops (which was implied in the first movie) so maybe the characters from the first movie that died will come back.

I recieved my dog's ashes and paw print over the weekend and that made it really sink in that she's gone. Still grieving.. but at least I'm remaining functional.
Trying to gather some of her things to put together a nice display in her memory.

In brighter news, they're finally trying to push my conversation from contractor to full time employee, which will come with a nice pay raise. That should help me with saving towards a house! Fingers crossed that all goes well there. I enjoy working here, so it'd be wonderful to stay instead of having to seek somewhere else to work after my contract ends.

I finished Higurashi GOU today, binged it all in one sitting and it was fantastic. Can't wait to be the blu ray of SOTSU to see the next season. I hope some of the Author's other works get an anime adaptation soon because that man is a genius. He and DRRR's author are both Legends, but in different ways. One writes the best ensembles and the other writes a brilliant shared universe of suspense and horror that's even better than the MCU at doing Easter eggs and making Suttle connections.

I started watching Wednesday yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting and dreading something like Sabrina, but it's much better. Wednesday while having feminist undertones does not feel the need to loudly vocalize and complain about the male patriarchy every five seconds. She also does not have a female love interest which I was shocked when I realized that they were going in this direction because it seems like that in every movie/tv show if you have a strong, independent female lead that just means she's a lesbian because obvi if you like men then you are reliant on men or some other whackadoodle reason.
I haven't finished the season yet though so we shall see if they manage to stick the landing.

On a separate note I heard the Pokemon anime is finally ending and there will be no more adventures of Ash (Satoshi) and Pikachu. This is an example of let's beat the horse till its dead, they did like 1,200 episodes of the exact same thing that we all loved growing up. I think I really got tired of the formula around the 1000 episode mark. I wonder what's next? Another anime about a different 10 year old? I wonder how die hard fans of the franchise feel about this, basically Ash simps. I'm glad his story is ending, I hope we can see more adult stories in that franchise going forward as well as them branching out in other areas. I talked way too long about this. Oh, The one thing I hated about Ash was how if he lost a battle he'd cry and bitch about it like some depressed adult. I mean I know he's only supposed to be 10 and therefore have the mentality of a 10 year old, but he was as tall as Misty and she had boobs and Brock was a grown man and Ash was practically as tall as him. Basically, there ain't no way a ten year old is that tall when compared to teens and adults in the series especially when you do see kids.

My Crunchyroll app on my Switch OLED which I brought only six months ago is lagging. At first I thought it was a problem with the wifi provider, well all other devices are working fine while connected to the wifi. Then I thought it was a problem with the Switch, well all other apps that need wifi to run like Duel Masters are working fine without any lag or buffering. Only the Crunchyroll app, I tried powering it off and powering it back on, I'm now thinking to delete the app and re-download it. I've logged over 215 hours on that app on the Switch, my big worry is I delete it and I can't sign back in because it lags too much and won't initiate a sign in or I delete it and suddenly the app store stops working so I can't re-download it.

I thought about casting or mirroring my phone to the TV since I have the app on my phone. The TV doesn't have the app in the app store. Only problem is my phone is a relic and none of the screen casting apps on the app store are compatible with my TV. the only one, SmartThings was an app pre-downloaded on my phone when I first got it and at some point I deleted it for more storage for a game. Now I can't re-download it as the app store says my phone is no longer compatible with the version they have. I screwed myself over on that one, kicking myself metaphorically.

So now I ask you, my Dollars friends what are your thoughts, tips, suggestions?

Recently, I've been trying to teach Dirt some tricks. She's picking up on them very quickly! I give each trick a vocal command and a hand signal and the ones she's learned, she'll do with either one. Of course, she'll only do her tricks when I have a treat in my hand, but for a cat, I think that's still pretty impressive! She has two tricks mastered and is getting the hang of another two. And this is less than 2 weeks of training. She's very smart!

I don't really celebrate all that much.

I really enjoyed homemade treats. Made some pb balls which turned out really good and some fudge which turned out not so good lol. We always make our fudge from scratch, but this year my sis bought a kit which admittedly was just the raw ingredients we would normally buy put in a box, but it didn't include marshmallow cream which is one of our normal ingredients. Well, turns out that you really need that ingredient to make fudge taste good and not like a lump of melted chocolate. So the kit was a lie.
Someone from work brought hot chocolate bombs which I'd never even heard of until this year, but apparently they're very popular. I don't know how much milk to heat up for it though...

Also the other night I watched Del Toro's Pinocchio which was pretty good. I love claymation and I loved the art style. The voice actors were also really good, I didn't even mind the narration which usually bugs me in movies, but it was such a nice voice I couldn't be annoyed by it. The actual story itself was strange, very realistic and sadder than any of the other Pinocchio movies which I honestly liked, but the pacing was kinda fast. There was a lot happening all back to back and the tone kept changing from happy to sad. The ending was also kinda strange, again very realistic and sad, not something I would have expected from Pinocchio. I got the feeling that the movie wasn't made for children, but more for adults because it touches on so many serious themes. Definitely worth watching though.

What did you get? Any good gifts? I got a popcorn making machine for the microwave, a few years back the same person gave (indirectly) me a popcorn making machine with a plug, I guess they feel back to an old gift. Not that I don't like it, but I'll probably never buy more kernels or oil. That's what happened with the last one, but that one had paper lids that also needed to be replaced each time and this one has a plastic lid so it doesn't need to be replaced.

Spent way too long on one tangent. I didn't get anything else of note, that was literally the only thing I wasn't expecting.

Anyway, Netflix is going to start charging for password sharing next year, that sucks. Don't know how that's gonna work for if you own multiple devices, like a TV in each room, a laptop, and a phone. Are you gonna get charged for each device the password is on? I doubt that, but I wonder how they're gonna create the system. It's 3.99 per password shared. They're expected to make 800 million from this new policy alone next year, although they lost around 1 billion dollars this year.

I was watching this video where this guy said something like "beings from the 5th dimension or higher would perceive us as fiction" without giving any context as to how he came to that claim. He was talking about a fictional work and how one of the characters can move to higher dimensions, but he never stated if that was part of the lore of the series or some random real world science theory.

Whenever I hear about the 4th dimension or higher people always state that it's like a tesseract for the 4th dimens or the dimension represents time moving one way and the 5th dimension represents time moving both ways or the 5th dimension represents the next cube like structure above a 4D tesseract. In simple terms people can't agree if higher dimensions represent more complex shapes or time.

I've been watching Ghost Whisperer which is really just a whole show. So strange that it got up to five seasons and somehow even stranger that it didn't get any more. It was a good show, but also very basic and repetitive. I still really like the opening credits, I always thought they were so pretty, albeit misleading. They make the show seem like it's going to be more whimsical/fantasy than it actually is. It's very much a drama show with just a little bit of supernatural to make it interesting.

Also my sister has been trying to make me watch the Daily Life of the Immortal King. Funny, but also weird. Apparently there's just a whole bunch of plot holes that never get resolved in season 1. Like who's trying to assassinate the female character? There's an assassination squad after her that was hired to kill her, but it never explains who hired them. And also random bird.

I just finished Asteroid in Love and that show had no right to be as good as it was. I need to know about something from episode 9 and I can't find any answers online. Damn, I might have to buy the manga just to see if the scene is extended or in a later unabated chapter they mention/ show a flashback to it, because what they did show from the scene was God tier writing, I was legit misty eyed and tearing up.

If you haven't seen Asteroid in Love I recommend giving it a shot. I give it an 83 out of 100

I bought Haven s1 online to watch and I'm about halfway through with it. Man that show was such a blast. Like early 2010s SyFy was a delight. Right at the cusp of decent budgeting and somewhat good special effects while still maintaining that snappy 2000s dialogue. And Haven being based off of a Stephen King story basically ensured that it would have a decent premise, granted they failed to stick the landing. Like the last two seasons of Haven were a total bust for me. The writers tried way too hard to stir up drama and drum up viewership rather than putting their efforts into actually coming up with a cohesive conclusion to the series. But at the very least they did finish the series and gave it a happy ending.

Got a partial toenail removal done today. Was weird to see him do stuff to my toe and not be able to feel it. I've only had local anaesthesia done before for fillings and that's not exactly a procedure you can actually see happening, so this was a strange experience. Hopefully I will no longer have issues with that nail though.

I just saw for the first episode for Reincarnated as a Sword and I gotta say it was surprisingly good, we got an MC who isn't afraid to say the first thing that comes to his mind and a nice father-daughter dynamic. I'm actually looking forward to next week's episode. From episode 1 alone I give it a 71 out of 100.

Starting my new year with a bang, fucking literally.

Learned how an SRS airbag smells like, not sure if the smell actually comes from the airbag, the gas used to inflate it, or something else that leaks from the car. Whatever it is, it has a distinct strong smell I never smelled before. It only reminds me of that moment, kinda don't like how it is.

I'm glad it was just a tree, I'm glad it was just me, I'm glad enough people were around to help me at such an early hour, I'm glad I was wearing the seat belt, I'm just glad that I'm this lucky. Not lucky enough to not drive myself to sleep onto a tree though unfortunately.

Like, I dozed off for a lil bit, and when my consciousness returns, and suddenly noticing the entire front window cracks, all sorts of thoughts just crossed my mind "Did I really just...", "Oh no...", "How would mom and dad react to this?" All in that split second during the 'airborne' moment.

And then we're back on land, and everything is starting to get more clear, noticing the airbag got deployed, some thick scented gas is leaking hard from the car. Getting out of the car, some people on motorcycles passing by with a smirk, I'd assume they thought "serve that young man right, heh." As if I committed something so severe earlier that night during new years celebration to deserve this.

A gojek motorcyclist (an uber equivalent on this side of the world) asked me if anyone else was inside, fortunately was just me, and I didn't even got a scratch. He said he was right behind me and saw my 'spectacular' stunt, told me to cool my head off because I'm still in shock (which as it turns out, yes). Asked the help of passersby who were around as my ride got totaled to move my car to the side of the road since it blocked the entire road vertically. Those passersby also stuck around for a bit, like watching a freakshow I suppose.

Worst part was how I was literally less than 2 minutes away from reaching home, now I gotta sit there on the side of the road for 2 hours before the towing truck could arrive.

How do you know who to contact to tow your wrecked car btw? I don't know, the gojek guy seemed to know, but he said none are availabe at 4AM, gotta wait a bit until after the sunrise. What happened was, gojek guy asked where I live so he could tell my neighborhood's security guy to handle the situation, then security guy relays the information about me to the local chief who probably knew a lot more about who to contact.

Gojek guy was probably on an errand, but still takes his time to help. Everyone should strive to be like gojek guy, I don't think I'd be capable of doing the same thing if I were in his position. All the more reason to strive to be like him.

Moral of the story, do not drive while sleeping.
Always prepare for worst case scenario, in this case, having an emergency contact that can be of use to help tow your car in case of an accident.

I can't find the Durarara blu-ray sets released by Aniplex of America on Righstuf or Amazon. I'm pretty sure they were released, are they on the Crunchyroll Store website? I know they were Limited Edition, but other Limited Edition Blu-rays like SAO, Fate, and Anohana are all still listed on Righstuf so why was Durarara removed? I don't want a region free Japanese release, I only want the official Region A release by Aniplex. I know I saw it on Righstuf a year ago, but that was before they were brought out by Crunchyroll and all 'mature' content was removed from the site, was Durarara considered 'muture'?

So I just saw the trailer for Transformers 2023 (Rise of the Beast) film. I was reading the comments and why is everyone hating on the films? It hasn't even been released yet and their have been trailers that looked great for terrible films and trailers that looked terrible for great films. Yet throughout all the hate of the franchise I see a lot of people seemed to hate the design of the characters because they didn't look like the original animated series. I mean, I think it's alright to modernize things, not like Supermans costum is made out of the same material these days as when he first was introduced in the comics. Appearances change over time, get over it. Then another thing I was reading was that some people were asking if the Transformer films were even supposed to be movies. A comment like that is super annoying to read because it shows how stupid the person who wrote it is. A film is anything longer than 60 minutes, nothing in that definition specifies a film has to be good or bad or you have to like it. You could record the dumbest shit ever for 60 minutes and call it a film, that doesn't mean anyone will like it.

It always bugs me when someone hates on something for no valid reason or the reason they give can be dismissed. The film hasn't even been released yet, people have only seen a short teaser trailer. You don't have the right to hate it yet unless you got some insider info on the plot/ seen the film/ or an idiot.

I just talked with a friend. We usually talk 5-6 hours at a time. Today it was only around 2 and a half. It's disappointing, since talking to them is maybe my favorite thing in the world (the topic we talk about, always only one topic and we at least talk about it once or twice a week) The talks are usually split in two parts with a brief intermission that last between 1-5 minutes. Technically during the intermission we are still talking about adjacent topics, but very briefly. The main talk continues with topic #2 which sometimes is a mirror of topic #1. They seem to be more excited than me to talk about our shared interest. Usually I will suggest we talk a few hours earlier in the day and they'll get back to me around starting time if they're interested with only once they were busy and could not attend. The talk is thus originally always intimated by me, although they have more interest than me. I do not know why they don't initiate a talk, perhapse it is part of their submissive nature (they always go with the flow. Around 95% of the time I pick both topics, yet they're still more engaged than me.) I often use the talks to ask many questions about the topics as the main point of the talks is to tell fact to each other, yet I still require input. They never ask a question unless prompted. They desire the talks,more than me, what I desire most is their participation. This is the way things go. There are no deviations and they're no personal information exchange outside of the appointed topics which all can be categorized under the single label. In actuality during the talks they answer all questions provided to them and since no personal information is exchanged outside of those topics and questions they know very little about me. When I pointed this out in a question today they stated they still think of me as a friend and even if circumstances were to change we'd still partcipate in the talks. I'm stuck in it more than anything, but since the talks become dull to me over time I limited it to 1-2 times a week with only an average of 2 topics a time otherwise i'd get bored most likely. I have no idea how they keep it up, even wanting to do days back to back if they weren't busy tomorrow. Perhapse it is the difference in genders and their biology is what keeps them constantly engaged? No matter, the talks are scheduled to resume on the weekend. I don't mean to rush them, but for now it's important.

So I've been rewatching Log Horizon. I did not realize that s3 had been released. I watched s1 and s2 when they first dropped, but after that I knew that there were problems with the production studio/author and from everything I heard back then I thought there wouldn't ever be an s3. But apparently there is and I'm looking forward to watching it despite MAL reviews that say it's meh compared to the first two seasons. Apparently s4 is up in the air though still so I hope s3 doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
I tried watching the dub out of curiosity and I ended giving that a big fat nope lol. It was real bad, specifically the va for Chief Nyanta. In the original he's a gentlemanly professor type character and then in the dub they made him out to be a smooth-talking ladies man who calls all the girls 'baby.' It was so bad I couldn't watch more than one episode before switching back to sub. My sis thought it was hilarious.

It doesn't feel like the characters can really be properly captured that way and I've rarely ever preferred it (and when I do, it's meme shit like Ghost Stories or old shows where it's so bad it's funny).

Speaking of crashing cars, My older sister flipped her car over on Thursday, by going too fast when avoiding a pot-hole and then started fishtailing.

The car is totaled and she is pretty freaked out. She was supposed to work today, but she took off, since she needs a break and doesn't have a car anymore.

As for dub v. subs I can't stand most subs. Text goes by too fast for me to read or I'm looking down and miss something on screen. If I watch something subbed I usually end up watching it twice, once to read through and once to watch through. Dubs is better for me since I can watch and understand what they are saying. I'm no sub hater, in some stuff I watched subbed I noticed that the nicknames might be completely changed in dubbed or sometimes a VA gives a great performance that isn't copied over. In the same vein the same is true in dubs, sometimes a localized name sounds better or a performance is really great compared to the Sub. Crunchyroll has recently gotten way better at their dubs, Tomo-chan for example and I'd say certain aspects of Remake our Life.

Sentai Filmworks should be banned from making dubs, their dubs are horrible and make me want the subs even though I know it'll be more difficult for me to watch. I tried watching the dub of Prisma Illya, one minute in I was switching to sub. Although Sentai has some good and great dubs like No Game No Life and Monthly Girl's Nozaki-kun, a whole bunch of their stuff has flat line delivery, altered speech made, or poor sound mixing. Thus is how I know if Sentai Filmworks picked up a series it won't be so good because that means Crunchyroll and Netflix probably passed on it. I mean, they have some gems, but ignoring the dubs/subs aspect of it a lot of shows Sentai picks up are actually terribly written with poor plots and the animation is nowhere near the quality of shows on Crunchyroll or Netflix.

Sentai Filmworks also had Log Horizon stolen by Crunchyroll for s3 and they gained Teasing Master Takagi-san for s3, but that season was so terrible in comparison to the other two. Literally if a show does great another company takes it off Sentai Filmwork's hands and if another company no longer wants a show it drops to Sentai Filmworks.

On another note you won't believe what I found online today. Okay, so I first went to Visual Novel Databse website because I like reading summaries of random visual novels. I click on like forty random titles, read a bit and click another random title. Then I came across one visual novel under the Yuri genre where the teacher and student are together. No the student is not a loli (adult who looks like a child) the student actually is a child, in elementary school and like most Visual Novels I've come across this one is 70% sex scenes. Now you might be thinking 'disgusting' and the first thought that crossed my mind was "Only in Japan would a fictional story like this get made.' Now if you say the Japense have a story for it I'll believe you because I thought I heard it all, but apparently not. If they're capable of this what else? The question is rhetorical because the answer is everything and anything.

I strongly recommend checking out Doom Patrol on HBO MAX, On its fourth season and always a blast. I brought the DVD for season one three Black Fridays ago. Never saw it before than, just felt like picking it up since I'm a DC fan/ comic book adaptation fan/ superhero fan. Loved that first season, absolutely one of my favorite seasons of any series. Season one is 15 episodes long and the first episode is especially long at 90 minutes I believe, the rest are like 40-60 minutes. The show follows a group ofsemi-immortal, ageless Metahumans (the technical term for a superhuman) as they go through their shit and depression while accidently saving the world. Oh and Cyborg is a team member, he's a big name A-lis superhero from DC, appearing in Zach Snyder's Justice Leauge played by a different actor. This series is set on Earth-19 in the same shared multiverse as many DC properties. The series is live action.

Season two was only 9 episodes long. I waited for the DVD to buy it at ten dollars again two Black Fridays ago. Season 3 was just released on DVD a few months ago so it was not on sale for Black Friday. I did however buy it this month using a coupon, not ten dollars, but I got it down to 16. I don't plan on watching season 4 until it gets released on DVD. I like watching the series that way.

You never know what will happen in Doom Patrol from a villain trying to take over the whole streaming service the series airs on (he's aware he's a fictional character) to a giant Kaiju rat and cockroach French kissing very passionately to their home being haunted to sex ghost to fighting butt monsters and a man trying to bang with some kind of unicorn talking spirit to an eldrich abomination wanting to turn the whole human population into candle wax.

Also don't try to be concerned with specific dates as this is X-men level continuity. For example in season 1 they mention the year is 2019, season 2 the year is 2020 and season 3 they year is 2021. However in season 3 they mention the events of season 2 happening three weeks ago and the events of season 1 happening 4-5 weeks ago with 7 weeks being before the series started. As you can see they clearly don't care about continuity. Also a character will appear in flashbacks in 1917 and in flashbacks in 1950 look exactly the same and in the present day look exactly the same (present day being 2021) and this applies not just to the characters who became ageless, but any character who is necessary to the plot while other characters will age normally.

This show is meant to be whacky and fun, and that's exactly what is delivered. Season 1 might be the best and season 2 might drop a bit, but not by much. If season 1 is a 9 our of 10 season 2 is a 8 out of ten and season 3 is another solid 8 out of 10. Overall I'd say 8.5 out of 10. Character development is good throughout the whole series, but season 3 is the best at it.

@NG-S That's because Doom Patrol is kind of supposed to be a parody of the comic book genre. In comics, especially the long-running serials, the continuity is garbage, characters never age or get drawn differently (even their costumes will stay the same for decades) just so they stay recognizable to the readers, and the plots of comic books are generally ridiculous and crazy since they used to be marketed to children and they weren't allowed to broach mature themes (with the exception of Vertigo Comics).
I watched s1 of Doom Patrol and a little bit of s2, but I didn't really like the show. Despite the amazing cast lineup and performances they provided I just didn't much care for the writing. I don't really like stories that don't have a concise plot and Doom Patrol is all over the place. I also wasn't fan of the vulgarity tbh. The comedy was usually something pretty gross and unappealing which was a huge turnoff.

Fun fact within the series the team doesn't refer to themselves as Doom Patrol instead one member started calling them Doom Force.

I just finished Doom Patrol season 3 and the writing was the best it has been. I may have even enjoyed it more than season 1 (writing being good does not equal enjoyment). Spoilers ahead. The fact that they brought racism into Cyborg's character was done really well. It didn't feel like they were using him to send a message, when his father talked about how a security guard detained him because he was at STAR Labs and forgot his keyboard and that's why he missed one of Cyborg's football games instead of comic book/ Animated series/ Zach Snyder's Justice Leauge where Silus Stone avoids going to Vic's games because he's too busy doing science work. The change didn't feel forced and it felt flushed out. The fact that in the series Silus made Vic into Cyborg to give him protection, power to defend him when he could of used synthetic skin versus the comics and film explanation where Silus turned his son into Cyborg to basically make him a Superhero felt like a great change. They handled Cyborg's Origins so well in this series. I also enjoy the character Cliff Stelle, the guys favorite word seems to be 'fuck' always funny when he says it fifteen times in a row. They handle swearing well, it never feels forced to make the series more edgy and mature. The writing of speech feels like 'yeah, this is what these people would actually say in these scenarios' it feels great to listen to something well writing. The series is no masterpiece, but it is the best and representing itself, it stays true to its core even three seasons in. For what it's trying to bring to the table it succsseds. Thus is a series about whacky misadventures of depressed people going through their shit while working together as a dysfunctional family. Yes, the series can be gross as there is some very disgusting scenes, but it just adds to the whacky and absurd nature of things. I can happily watch this series with a goofy smile on my face.

I just saw M3GAN yesterday (The 10th) This is my review. Minor spoiler in the last paragraph.

M3GAN was a good little movie. This film won't win any awards, but it presents itself as a nice film I would go see again.

I didn't find this film humorous, not a single moment made me laugh. I wasn't going into the film expecting it to be a horror-comedy or for that matter a horror. Their are a few horror elements sprinkled throughout the film, mostly adding up in the final act. I do not see M3GAN (The character) as an alternative to Chucky or Michael Myeres. In this film I mostly felt like M3GAN was a more grounded version of Ultron as both characters were programmed to 'protect' and interpreted that command to the extreme.

This film was about many things. From a family coming together, the satirical nature of the android toy, and of course M3GAN's self discovery . I can't recall the line exactly, but more than half-way through M3GAN asks herself something akin to "why was I created?". This along with the final moments in the film where M3GAN states she is her own primary user (effectively cutting her strings) made me wonder if this whole film wasn't meant to be the self-discover of an android trying to find their place in the world. This film was done exceedingly well, I never thought I'd be having such deep thought on the film M3GAN or a nightmare during my nap after the film where M3GAN in her semi-broken state goes after me.

Something sad I recently just realized, I don't have any friend who would sit still and listen to my ramblings. Granted, I'm more of a listener kinda person most of the time. But damn, can I be the one who talk about something for once?

The main character is named Bell and one person said they wanted to see "If you show multiple female characters people are gonna wanna see the main character with the other female characters instead of the main heroin" First I completely disagree, this statement only applies in certain cases. It all depends on the taste of the viewer and the circumstances of the series. In this case I think what they meant was that in Danmachi the main female love interest is completely uninteresting and all the other woman who have feelings for Bell are viewed in his eyes as only friends so the person who wrote this really meant "I hope he gets more romantic with the other ladies soon".

That wasn't the stupid part of the comment, that was a minor rant. Okay the person who replied pointed this out, "You're trying to base this on the stipulation that Danmachi is a harem anime and it isn't" the first person replied back with this comment that made me realize they were purely stupid, "Explain to me your definition of harem, hell go on Google and do it because what you just said summed up the basic human intelligence in one sentence"

Things don't get much simpler than definition three and none of these definitions apply to Bell. Sure, he has many woman falling head over heals in love with him, but he only has eyes for one woman and sees the others only as friends and not romantic interest. I saw this one book where the Prime Minister of Japan was an anime girl and now they have 'fictional' 2-D idols. I don't think its far off until 2-D characters are running for office in Japan. Last night my neighbor connected to my Bluetooth soundbar and it spooked me. I was laying in the living room on the sofa when all of a sudden I hear this disembodied voice reacting the same thing 3-4 times. I've been watching The Mentalist which is a rather brilliant show. The concept is one that's been done a thousand times before, but the main cast have such a unique dynamic and more chemistry than most other casts on similar shows. Most other cop procedural shows like this spend almost no time with the side characters to explore their background or their personal relationships, but The Mentalist does and it really creates a much better story because of it and it also helps with the pacing. Usually when a show has seasons that are 20+ episodes it means there's a lot of fluff and filler, but instead the show takes the extra time to focus on the characters and so it never feels like the main plot is being watered down.
Even though I will say that it quietly bugs me that the writers of the show keep insisting that the coroner does this or that at crime scenes and morgues and what they really mean is the ME. Tv shows and movies have this weird thing where they refuse to differentiate between the ME and coroner even though they're completely different jobs. A coroner doesn't even have to have a medical license.

Also it's supposed to snow today and I'm mildly upset about it. The weather's been in the 50s and 40s for the past week and so when it does snow it's just gonna be cold and wet and not pretty at all.

Also also my sis dragged me to this pizza party event that's supposed to break the Guinness World Record for the world's largest pizza party. I spent $25 for admission, had to wait outside in the cold for 2 hours, deal with a VERY large crowd with lots of cameras, eat a tiny slice of pizza, and then I got a sweater for the effort.

Gonna see M3GAN again at the theater today, it's really good.

I need food. I'm gonna sneak my lunch in the theater, hide it in my coat pocket. I'm starving and the movie is less than an hour off. I can't eat now because it takes a while to get to the theater and I don't have plastic or paper for food sold at the theater. I also realized from reckoning with that reality of mine, that my excitement of reexperiencing life back when the semester began in the mid-22 is probably, partly comes from here. Yes, I've been dying to finally meet people again after 2 years of isolation, and the movies/anime that I watched in this period firmly planted this 'idea' of seeing obstacles in our life as something that dyed our canvas of life, like a colorful abstract beautiful painting.

In a reality where all I ever did was sitting in a small room in front of a small screen 24/7, the prospect of being in a school club room where misadventures comes barelling towards you instead of the other way around, feels oddly romantic. Almost like, Ryuugamine Mikado's train of thoughts, I think.

Nothing influences me as much as the Haruhi series though, I aspire to be like Suzumiya who doesn't care what the world thinks of her and is always relentless to extract as much joy as possible from life through her misfits by dragging her club members through whatever she feels worthy of 'fun' that day or week. Indeed the prospect sounds awful, but her club members recalled their time in the club fondly despite all the hardships.

And as I drifted away from this site, as I got used to the campus life, I've been slowly returning to my old timid self. Like wow, everything is so loud, how did I ever want to put myself in this situation? And yet I did, the collective experiences I gathered from everyone I encountered, fictional or real, inspired me to search for my own adventures.

"To live is to suffer, and to be able to fondly remember all the hardships you've gone through in order to arrive in a more comfortable position of life." I live by this quote when the semester started (some of you might've remembered), but slowly forgot about it as time went on. I've only been starting to remember it after writing all those things up there.

Everything is so overwhelming right now, like man I wanna go home. So much so that I've almost forgotten how suffocating emptiness feels like, it feels so distant now, yet I couldn't ever forget, anything else is literally better than feeling emptiness, even suffering.

My aspiration to be like Haruhi is waning, yet I don't think there's anything I can do to prevent it. To play along with the joke, "Haruhi really is a figure worthy of worship." Simply too perfect of a figure to replicate, but well, she's not real so I guess that's kind of a given already. Though something I came up with back in 2021 or so, "If you're about to do something silly, in public all the more so, then you must be the main character at that moment. Be proud about it." I used to be able to externalize my struggles into believing that it will play a part in a larger overarching narrative of my life that I've yet to know and probably will never know, I wonder where that habit/ability ran off to.

Pulling away from the current problems for a second though, I can't wait to get through this 'storm', reach the calm seas, and just, enjoy the breeze and warmth... man I miss beaches... and the serene moments, I think I found a place near campus that can give evoke that similar peacefulness I had experienced back in high school's after hour. Gonna give it a try sometime soon, it was a tiny restaurant that has a seat so close to the outside you can basically see a large part of the sky from it, something I hadn't been able to have for quite a while.

Something that sticks to mind from dormitory days, I had a friend who's very charismatic and handles a few organization as its core member as well as having a passion in running a content creation instagram account at the time.

One of the nights when I stayed late to work on a poster design, I was the only one in the charging room (as in, a room filled with electric plugs, students bedroom doesn't have any) and the lamp was off. He comes in, having already cleansed himself for a prayer, which I'd assume he's gonna do the midnight one (midnight prayers are usually done when one desperately needs an answer or help, or to simply approach 'god' and becoming a devout and diligent follower).

A few minutes later, he finishes, then he asks for wishes, prayers, in silence as I kept working on my digital poster. Moments passed, then he starts crying and punching the floor, as if the dam that holds him in one piece finally broke.

I don't have a clue as to what to do, so I just let him cry his heart out. Some people passing by on the corridor eventually caught on and approached him, asking what was wrong.

He never budged and stays muted, he puts on the mask back on the next morning. Charismatic as ever, reliable, fun to hang around with as always. Forever hiding the heavy burden he carries.

In other news I ran out of storage room on my Switch. Since I have to buy an SD card I decied to buy the most expensive model for tons of storage which is onlya little above 500 GB. While I'm at it I'm picking up Mortal Kombat 11, I've only played 1 Mortal Kombat game before and that was when I was a child so I hardly recall it. Like always I'm buying from Amazon.

Strange thing is Amazon has pre-order for M3GAN on DVD and Blu-Ray/ DVD/ Digital combo, but no 4kHD/ Blu-ray/ Digital combo. All the new stuff gets a 4k release so this is puzzling me, maybe when it gets closer to release the pre-order will go up. It's not just Amazon, but everywhere. I'm planning on getting it on 4K, it was the first film since Far From Home that I saw twice in the theater, really good film.

Have a question on morality of love, specifically incest. I'm not advocating for it, just trying to understand perspectives on the matter. Basically- why is it illegal, a crime punishable as a felony that could cause someone several years in prison. Now I understand the argument for incest between a man and woman as if they had a child it could suffer from genetic defects and knowing putting another human life through such trouble should be treated as a crime, but why punish same-sex couples or a man and woman who can't have children because they took the surgrey to prevent themselves from doing so.

In some countries incest is legal up to a 1st cousin. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Okay so back on point, why is it still illegal and treated so negatively by society under the view of a couple physically unable to have children. Some people call insect disgusting, but isn't love a beautiful thing no matter what the relationship is between the two individuals. In my country the government says incest is a crime because it can cause harm to family relationships along with birth defects, but is the first reason something the government should stay out of? I for one don't want my government telling me how my family relations should be.

In the end I'm left wondering if you can't have children biologically and you love each other why does it matter that you're related by blood?

It doesn't really matter the type of relationship the people have if they're related chances are one of the partners is manipulating/grooming the other. There's no way for the daughter to separate her familial feelings from the relationship which creates a sense of obligation to make her mother happy ergo to have sex with her.

If you havent heard a while back DC made a Batgirl film. They filmed the whole thing, never finished all the visual effects. A while back the film was canned with a report going out that Warner Bros scrubbed the film from their server much to the dismay of the producers of the film. Warner Bros wrote the film off a tax write off, meaning they legally can't release the film as that would be fraud and no one wants the IRS after them (Joker said it best once stating he might be crazy enough to fight Batman, but even he's not crazy enough to go up against the IRS). Yet, after all this people still wanna see the film.

Well a few days ago one of the co-CEOs of DC stated that "That film was not releasiable.. it would've hurt DC, it would've hurt those people involved" Basically the film is garbage and we should be glad we're not getting it. Yet I still see comments or videos being made saying the film should be released. Even if they wanted to they can't, its a tax write off.

Okay this be random, but something I noticed about people on Quora or sometimes in TV shows/ movies. Basically if a man has sex with a lot of women he gets all cocky and his buddies pat him on the back and treat him like some hero, but if a woman has sex with a lot of men everyone criticizes her and gives her negative feedback. I'm not taking an opinion on the topic, just that this be what I noticed.

So I finished all 7 seasons of The Mentalist. Like I've said before the writing of that show is rather brilliant and the characters were great. I think the only thing that I didn't like was how completely different the show became after s6. A lot of it was due to obvious budget cuts ie character changes so I can't really complain too much about it because that's out of the producer's control. But something they did that irked me was changing the setting. The last season is set in Texas instead of California and I was confused about this change especially because one of the big plot changes was everyone joining the FBI, but the FBI is based in Virginia not Texas so if they were going to change the setting I would have expected them to change it to Virginia.
Another thing was Lisbon and Jane's relationship. Like I didn't mind them dating. Throughout the whole show they definitely give off Mom and Dad vibes within their team which is part of what made the show so great, but then in s7 it's a whole new cast of characters and their not "Mom and Dad" anymore and the two never really express their new relationship dynamic like I seriously can only remember seeing them hold hands once in all of s7. Considering that the show did such an amazing job at writing in and directing body language I just would have thought they would have been able to nail this one thing, but instead that's really where they were lacking.

I hear a lot of people complaining about the DC road map that came out for their films and TV shows a few days ago and none of these complaints are valid.

For the story arcs or runs of comics that they're taking inspiration for the Superman and Batman film I hear people saying "Why those comics, why not take inspiration from these comics" Truth is no matter what comics they said they were taking inspiration from people would complain. Then people are saying "Why are you making films and shows for obscure characters that aren't popular" Well Iron Man was considered an obscure character before his first film, now he's a household name. It doesn't matter how well known the character is, it all depends on how good the project is because we've had films for mega popular characters do poorly because they were bad films while films for not so well known characters did well because they were great films.

Then people are saying "You're keeping Ezra Miller but not Jason Monongalia Gadot, or Henry Cavil or Ben Afleck. How could you?" They never said they where keeping Ezra, he still has a film coming out in June, they're not going to announce anything about his career until after that. Meanwhile they never said Momoa was out and they recently said they are talking to get Gadot back in as Wonder Woman. Meanwhile they want Superman to be the face of the company and Henry Cavil is too old, a decade ago yes, but they fucked that up.

People are also saying that "no direction, at least Marvel gave us an Avengers film" you gotta know the road map DC gave was only for 2-3 years. In Marvel terms this would be like only giving up the first half of phase 1 and everyone knows your big Avengers level threat is at the end of each phase and we do have a direction, the theme is Gods and Monsters.

All these complaints people have about DC are invalid.

Just watched Gifted with Chris Evans, didn't think about him as Captain America once. The movies was good, 7.5 out of 10. Two moments really stood out to me, one in practically has ended up changing my viewpoint on how relgion should be viewed. Excellent writing, I did think they could've done more with the teacher character. I rented it on Amazon Prime using promotional credit so I didn't pay a cent, but I'll add this to my collection. The good thing about a little not so well known film like this is that the blu-ray only cost $7.99 and thats including DVD, Blu-ray, and Digital.

I saw Friday the 13th for the first time, I'm talking original film. I watched on Amazon Prime, came with Prime. The film was an alright slasher film, 6 out of 10, 3 out of 5. The film wasn't bad per say, except I've seen all the Halloween and Scream films already and this one honestly didn't seem as interesting as those slasher films. The reveal of the killer was lost on me as I've already known who the killer was from YouTube videos. I did appreciate how the killer was foreshadowed to the audience as we weren't shown the killer, but not all the victims where frightened at seeing them which would lead one to assume the killer has a non-threatining appearance. Will I be watching more of Friday the 13th, yes, but only once my promotional credit is built back up as I spent it all on Going in Style, Holmes & Watson, and Gifted. The rest of the Friday films are only avaliable to buy or rent off Amazon Prime,, I of course only rent things.

Why do I do this to myself? Why? Why do I read the comment section on YouTube videos? It's just complete idiots saying whatever shit comes to mind. Like on this one about should James Gunn direct Superman: Legacy since he's already writing it. 3 comments really stood out as idiotic. The first was someone stating they wouldn't mind if he directed a Superman film but not the first one because they "want someone who has a vision for it" who the fuck has a better vision than the God damn writer who also happens to be the CEO and the one who's planned out the whole cinematic universe. Tell me, who the fuck has a better vision because no one does.

Second comment was complaining that they don't want him to direct because suicide squad was a box office bomb so he can't make good DC films that make money. And you know what? Completely wrong, sure it lost money, but it was released during the lockdown and at HBO MAX at the same time. Only hard core fans went to see it at the theater when anyone who had a subscription could watch it at home for free. The Suicide Squad was also r-rated so parents weren't gonna show their children the new superhero movie. Superman has none of that going for it, moreover The Suicide Squad was considered a great film.

I've been watching a little bit of Stargate Atlantis. Just on and off when I can't think of anything else to watch I'll put it on. As with all 90s and early 2000s tv shows the writing is delightful. The witty quips and sarcasm really make my day. Also two of the main characters were clearly written as boyfriends and they're super cute together.
My sis didn't initially believe me, but twelve episodes in and she also agrees that they're supposed to be a couple lol.
Such a shame that characters couldn't be written as openly gay in tv shows back in the day.

Anything that can save & load custom css should work for tweaking the styling on a per-user basis. There was a popular extension for that which also let you share your website themes with other users. If it's still around, that could be a fun way to approach it.

Here is a first attempt at making blockquotes less obnoxious.

It looks broken in the post above because I was doing something hacky to get around the spacing (removed all line breaks).

But if you use it normally, it looks fine.

There are probably better ways to approach it though.

Added a border and fixed the spacing when a blockquote is at the end of a post.

Spoiler Warning- Legion of Super Heroes is a 7 out of 10, 3.5 out of 5. I brought it on 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital on release day and watched it on release day. I had low expectations, but it was alright. Animation started off a bit bad, got vaugly better. The film is mistitled, named after The Legion which is a Superhero team, they appear less than 1 minute at the end of the film. This is a Supergirl film. They have characters who are members of The Legion from the comics as main characters in this film like Braniac-5, Bouncing Boy, and Phantom Girl but here they're all trainees at a school so technically not Legion members.

The main villain killed himself by suicide, first time I saw that in a DC film. He literally ripped his body in half because he was in too much mental and physical distress. Overall I like that this film had some darker things and they skipped Supergirl's full origin which has been covered extensively.

The best part of this film was the end credit scene. It was unexpected as I can't recall an animated DC film ever having one before. It was a 10 out of 10, as good as the Spider-Man: Far From Home post and end credit scenes. It has got my excitement high for Justice Leauge: Warworld later this year.

Just saw the Harley Quinn Valentine Special, it was amazing, a must watch. Darkseid may have only had one scene, but it was the best scene in the whole special. No King Shark, but a lot of Bane. No Joker either. This was very much giving the fans what they wanted with Bane. Also I can't remember, but I think this is the first time we saw Superman since season 1. A lot of great moments. Season 1 is still the best, I watched it 3 times in a row when it first came out.

I watched the pilot of Interview with a Vampire. As amazing as I thought it would be. The sfx, writing, and actors were all superb. I really appreciated that they made Louis and Lestat openly gay. It was something that Anne Rice skirted around throughout the book series. I did not however appreciate that they're no longer ace, granted they didn't really have sex (at least it didn't show that), but it showed them making out while in an intimate setting.
I was so happy to see though that they didn't make Lestat crazy like they did in the original movie (the one thing I didn't like about the movie). And they've already thrown in a bunch of hints/easter eggs regarding his backstory. The series is definitely catered to the people who have read and enjoyed the books.
I'm so intrigued as to how the Claudia storyline will play out. I remember everyone being mad that they wrote her as a teenager and they casted an adult to play her instead of having a little kid play the part. In fairness though Claudia was straight up insane and killed a lot of people and if they're staying true to the book things are gonna get bloody around her. Kinda makes sense that they wouldn't want a little kid to play that role.
Can't watch the rest though yet cause I don't feel like buying an AMC+ sub right now.

I read through a few of the book entries and I thought about how I'd answer now since I hadn't before. And it's weird to think about the age questions. Because I think I found the site when I was 14? Some age around there. And now I'm 2 months away from being 24.

I'm a very different person from back then, especially in terms of mental state. I was definitely noooot in a good mental state back then, and I didn't ever plan on living past 18. But I'm here now, happy and planning a future for myself. And it's kinda nice to think that there's little bits of my past self scattered throughout some threads on here (even though I may cringe reading them, they were still me).
Still kinda the same person in some ways though, like why I'm even here. I originally came here due to a terrible sense of loneliness and wanting to be a part of a community. And it was nice to just anonymously share my thoughts to.. essentially a void, and sometimes have that void acknowledge those thoughts. I still kinda have that sense of loneliness, longing to be a part of something. And I definitely still enjoy just dumping my thoughts and dipping, haha.

If anything, I hope my about decade length of time here has helped people in some way. Maybe some have seen how I've grown as a person and it inspires them. Maybe I've taught them something or gave them a new perspective. Or maybe they have been fueled with hate for me that makes them strive to be better than me in every way.

On a side note I just saw Knives Out, really good film. The mystery was engaging. I saw the reveal a mile away, it was so obvious after you knew exactly how the 85 year old died. Still looking for a mystery where I can't put the clues together before the end of the film. This film did feel lengthy for the first hour but after the interviews ended it picked up the pace.

Saw Brightburn. It was an alright film. God I hate teens sometimes and this film reminded me why, although technically he was a pre-teen. Basically it was Homeland: The Child The Movie. God I hated that kid (character not actor). I honestly can't say I liked this film on a personal level, on a technical level I can say it was an alright film.
